Buttered Carrots

I wanted to use up the carrots I had for the WCCS Friday night potluck. I made buttered carrots following this recipe at Gode Cookery which was originally taken out of a 1660 English cookbook, Robert May's The Accomplished Cook.

I subbed dried tart cherries because I didn't have currants or raisins. I used madeira because it's the sort of wine I had in the fridge. It was delicious.
